Sound creation based on acoustic engineering, psychoacoustics, and spatial acoustics. A new "standard" earphone was born from research into the differences between sound sources produced using 2-channel stereo and binaural technology. It's widely known that listening to binaurally produced sound sources, such as games and VR, with conventional earphones or headphones can produce a distinctive sense of discomfort in the high frequencies. While acoustic researchers have identified the cause, no satisfactory countermeasures have yet been found. This new approach addresses the issue, resulting in earphones that deliver the tonal quality, spatial image, and sense of direction intended by the creator when listening to binaurally produced sound sources, such as games and VR. The VR3000 for Gaming is the result of extensive research, enabling even more accurate reproduction.
The VR3000 for Gaming gaming earphones, focused on spatial expression, were developed based on final's ongoing research into the acoustic physics required for transducers that reproduce the acoustic spatial impression intended by the creator when playing immersive binaural sound* with headphones or earphones. Accurately recreating the spatial experience of a game or content enhances immersion. For example, in a dark mission in an FPS game, rather than accentuating the sounds of opponents, players are immersed in the world of the game, enhancing their natural reaction time. As a result, players feel as if their body is moving with tactile sensation, immersing themselves in the world with a sensation similar to that of the real world. *Immersive binaural sound: Binaural sound allows users to experience three-dimensional sound with earphones or headphones, characterized by sound image localization and spatial expansion in three dimensions (front/back, left/right, up/down).
Equipped with a completely redesigned driver unit, the "f-Core DU," from final, with a complete overhaul of design, components, and production technology. To achieve unparalleled sound quality at this price point, we established a new overseas base and redesigned driver components, including the diaphragm, voice coil, magnet, magnetic circuit, and adhesives, as well as production equipment, resulting in the development of the completely redesigned 6mm diameter dynamic driver unit, the "f-Core DU." The driver front housing is made of brass, which is less susceptible to magnetic fields than standard aluminum and has a high specific gravity. To enhance the diaphragm's time response, the voice coil uses an ultra-fine 30μ CCAW wire, and assembly with minimal adhesive minimizes the weight of the moving parts. Furthermore, the diaphragm is carefully pressed in small batches, approximately one-third the size of the usual production, minimizing pressure unevenness and achieving a uniform, distortion-free diaphragm.
A customized fit: The VR3000 for Gaming achieves an even better fit based on the housing design, the optimal solution for IEMs established during the development of the B series. The quality of an earphone's fit is determined by the feeling of pressure. While ergonomics and an organic shape, such as the use of silicone for support, may seem appropriate at first glance, they constantly exert pressure on the ear, placing strain on the ear and causing fatigue without even realizing it. Compared to organic shapes that contact the ear with a large surface, we aimed for a pressure-free fit by limiting the contact area. The VR3000 for Gaming housing provides a stable fit by holding the ear at three points. These three points are: one of the pink areas (ear pockets), one green area (earpiece), and one blue area (tragus) in the diagram below. This allows it to fit a wide range of ears. The absence of pressure at any contact point will make you realize just how comfortable earphones can be, providing an exceptional fit that feels like customized earphones.
