Introduction
HELLOWEEN, the patrons of German metal! This live CD features recordings from their first ever Nippon Budokan concert, which finally took place in 2023!
■A Long-Awaited Nippon Budokan
In the '90s, HELLOWEEN's album sales and attendance figures at Japan shows made them a band worthy of performing on that legendary stage. However, by some fate, they were unable to perform at the Nippon Budokan. However, in September 2023, with the return of Kai Hansen (guitar, vocals) and Michael Kiske (vocals), their long-cherished dream finally came true. This CD captures that Nippon Budokan performance. From classic hits like "Eagle Fly Free," "Future World," "Power," "How Many Tears," and "I Want Out" to tracks from their latest album, "HELLOWEEN," released in 2021 with a seven-member lineup, including "Orbit," "Skyfall," "Mass Pollution," and "Best Time," this sold-out concert traced the history of HELLOWEEN.
■Charlie Bauerfeind also visits Japan
Charlie Bauerfeind, who has produced, mixed, and mastered many of HELLOWEEN's recent albums, also visited Japan for this performance, and Charlie took the helm from the recording stage onward. The resulting recording is filled with a immersive sound.
■Video Product Bonus
The Blu-ray and DVD versions of this release include Dani Lebret's drum solo "Drumokan," which is not included on the CD version, before "I Want Out." Additional bonus footage includes a backstage documentary (with Japanese subtitles) and animations shown during the performance.
