The bowl is decorated with a delicate, lace-like pattern (etched) reminiscent of traditional Czech lace. The pattern is carved across the entire bowl, enhancing the luxurious look of the drink inside. Its elegant form is also appealing. [Etching Technique] First, the glass is dipped in melted wax (candle) and allowed to dry. This creates a protective layer of wax covering the entire glass. A fine needle is then used to carve the intricate pattern into the wax (the patterned areas are scraped away). The glass is then immersed in an acidic solution for a set period of time and removed. Only the areas scraped away by the wax are carved into the acidic solution. Finally, the wax is rinsed off from the entire glass with hot water, leaving only the delicate pattern engraved.
