LAURA ASHLEY Laura Ashley was born in a small London flat in 1953. Founders Laura and Bernard Ashley wondered if they could print their favorite patterns on patchwork fabric themselves. After much experimentation at their kitchen table, the couple began silkscreen printing. Their designs, inspired by British nature and the elegant lifestyle of the Victorian era, became beloved by many as they are beautiful and bring a sense of spiritual tranquility. From its humble beginnings in a single apartment, Laura Ashley has grown into a global lifestyle brand over the past 65 years.
