The second popular edition of the Rough Guide. A wide range of current Celtic music!
The Rough Guide to Scottish Music (San Viña Import) is one of the most popular Rough Guide series, and the Rough Guide to Celtic Music has been revived after nine years with a new look! The first edition has been out of print for a long time, so this is good news for fans!
The Celts. They once expanded their sphere of influence throughout Europe and are said to have laid the foundations of European culture. However, under pressure from the Romans and Germanic tribes, they were gradually driven to the far west and southwest of Europe, and their descendants are now spreading their culture to Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and other parts of the UK, as well as Brittany, the westernmost part of France, and Galicia, the northwestern part of Spain.
This work mainly features Celtic artists in the UK today. Starting with Capercaillie, a long-established Scottish band that has released many domestic albums and has visited Japan, Solas, the "world's best Irish-American band" that is scheduled to tour Japan in June this year, Altan, a veteran band familiar to Irish fans, Carla Dillon, a popular singer with her cute looks and lovely voice, Cara Dillon, known as a genius guitarist and famous for her duo with Liz Carroll, the top fiddler in 4, and others, the album covers the essentials while also featuring promising artists and groups. And the bonus CD is the 2007 full album by Dara, a unique group from Cornwall, the southwestern tip of England (of course, in the Celtic world)!
Recommended for both beginners to this music and Irish fans.
