While its appearance is similar to the "Soryu" class, it is equipped with higher-capacity, higher-output lithium-ion batteries, resulting in improved diving capabilities. The fourth vessel, "Raigei," was launched in October 2023 and is scheduled to enter service in March 2025. 1/350 scale plastic model kit.
