Introduction
◆ Singer, singer-songwriter, actress, and writer from Hita City, Oita Prefecture.
While attending Yokohama Gakuen High School, she entered a contest and made her debut in 1975 with the album "Tobimasu."
Her powerful vocal range and expressiveness, unimaginable for her petite, slim figure (just under 150cm), combined with her dark, sharp lyrics that explored society through love, earned her the nickname "Nakajima Miyuki's rival" at the time of her debut.
In December 1975, she performed at the TBS Hall's "Pack Festival."
Her performances were met with overwhelming acclaim, and she began to be known as the "Madonna of Late-Night Radio," primarily on TBS's "Pack in Music."
From April 1979 to March 1980, she hosted the Tuesday DJ slot on Nippon Broadcasting System's "All Night Nippon." While continuing to release music and perform concerts, she also engaged in a variety of activities, including essay writing and theater performances. She made a full comeback in 2008 and continues to remain active. During her time with Pony Canyon, Hako Yamazaki released 16 albums (1975-1984). Many of these have yet to be released on CD, and they are scheduled for remastering in the future.
