The prototypes are based on the B12 (4-car set) and A9 (2-car set) trains belonging to the Niigata Rolling Stock Center. They reproduce the appearance of the trains, equipped with Toyo VVVF engines manufactured by the Japan Transport Engineering Company's Niitsu Plant and Mitsubishi AU725 air conditioners.
The stainless steel body combines with a white front end, and the Niigata region's distinctive "Golden Yellow" and "Toki Pink" livery. The train also recreates the distinctive appearance of the front end and equipment designed for operation in heavy snowfall regions.
The leading car features illuminated headlights, taillights, and front display (with a switch to turn them off). White LEDs are used. All four headlights are illuminated in high beam mode.
Each car uses a body-mounted close-coupling coupler without a hook.
A snowplow-shaped skirt with an integrated body support is attached (the coupler cannot be swiveled. When operating leading cars together, please use the included coupling skirt).
The newly developed slotless motor delivers smoother and quieter running. Both sets feature the KuMoHa E129 powered car. Two traction tires are included for the four-car set, and one for the two-car set.
Both sets come with a "Local (light blue) Niigata" front display. Replacement destination displays are included (four-car set: "Local (red) Murakami" - plain, two cars each; two-car set: "One-man (pink) Naoetsu" - plain, two cars each).
Side destination displays are printed in solid black. Destination display stickers featuring a variety of tracks and destinations are included.
Exterior speakers and door switches are printed.
The bookcase included with the four-car set can store the contents of a two-car set.

The E129 series 0/100 is a commuter DC electric train that was introduced in 2014 and is active in the Niigata area.
Releasing in a 4-car set and a 2-car set, you can not only operate each car individually, but also recreate formations just like the real thing, such as a 2+2 4-car formation, 4+2 (2+4), or 2+2+2 6-car formation.
This vehicle can be enjoyed alongside the E127 series, Echigo Tokimeki Railway ET127 series, and ET122 series, which are also active in the same area.
