●1965 marks the beginning of production on the album "Rubber Soul"!
This is the 6th volume in the ambitious project to collect every recording of The Beatles.
This popular series thoroughly traces the band's history chronologically through sound, featuring officially recorded studio recordings by The Beatles as well as unreleased outtakes and songs.
Volume 6 begins in October 1965, when production on the album "Rubber Soul" began. Their previous album, "Help!", made effective use of keyboards.
They entered a new phase by employing outside musicians.
They had just released a masterpiece in August, which even quietly included the classic "Yesterday."
It's been just over two months since then.
They began production with no new songs in stock and completed the masterpiece "Rubber Soul" in just one month, demonstrating an incredible creative ability that can only be described as godlike.
This album chronologically follows the 31 days of recording, from October 12 to November 11, 1965.
By listening to the audio of the production of "Rubber Soul," you can relive the magic of The Beatles' recording.
On the first day, "Run for Your Life" was completed, while the sitar-infused "Norwegian Wood" was abandoned.
It was later remade, and an early version of it is included here.
On the second day, the powerful "Drive My Car" appeared.
On the third day, "Day Tripper" and the George-written "If You Want to Fall in Love" were born, and on the fourth day, "We Can Work It Out" was born, creating a truly amazing situation!
Their creative energy knew no bounds as they continued to write "In My Life," "Nowhere Man," and "Michelle." On the very last day (November 11th), right before the deadline, Paul brought in "You Want See Me" and John completed "Girl."
Shortly after their crazy summer North American tour, John said, "If we just put wax figures of us on stage, the audience would be satisfied. Music and concerts had become completely different things."
The live stage was no longer a place to showcase musical achievements, nor a place to have fun. It was inevitable that the hearts of the four Beatles would turn to studio work, and perhaps this is why the masterpiece "Rubber Soul" was born.
