This is the opening scene, so to speak, before the climax. A conversation between Supreme Chairman Takenaka (Kenji Sahara!!) and Sakomizu reveals Sakomizu's experiences and background, and the film's heroine, Aya Jinguji, makes an appearance. And with Yapool's revival, Ultraman A couldn't have been more intriguing. His reunion with the monster Lunaticus and Yuko Minami after 34 years is moving. However, the true story of this disc is episode 41, "The Teacher of Memories," which follows and complements the setting of "Ultraman 80." "Ultraman 80," as the title suggests, is an Ultraman series that aired for one year starting in April 1980. The protagonist, Takeshi Yateki, who transforms into 80, was a member of the Earth Defense Organization UGM and a teacher at Sakuragaoka Junior High School in downtown Tokyo. While this premise was utilized at the beginning, the protagonist eventually settled on being a full-time member of the defense organization. While this change in premise was, in a sense, due to production convenience, it felt abrupt to children at the time. 25 years later, "Ultraman Mebius: The Teacher of Memories" begins with the grown-up children sharing their memories of Mr. Yateki, as the school is scheduled to close and the students hold a class reunion, when a monster called Ho, possessing negative energy, appears. Not only is Mebius and 80 fighting together, but the scene where Yateki reunites with his students after the battle is pleasantly presented in a straightforward manner, free of excessive emotionality. The ability to create a story that is like metafiction, incorporating the perspective of children of the past, is something only the Ultraman series, with its 40-year history, can do. This is a masterpiece that represents "Ultraman Mebius." (Saito Morihiko)
