He aspired to be a composer while in high school. In 1989, while studying composition at Tokyo University of the Arts, he received the Japan Contemporary Music Association Newcomer Award. After graduation, he began his musical career as an arranger.

He joined the music unit "Smart Drug" and released three mini-albums. Currently, he primarily works on background music for dramas, games, and animation.
