The LP Afuche/Cabasa is the second patented product developed by Martin Cohen nearly 30 years ago. It has become a popular hand percussion instrument today. A continuous loop of steel bead chain is wrapped around a specially finished stainless steel cylinder surface. It is mounted on a wooden flange and equipped with a wooden handle. (The MINI version has a plastic base). By rotating or shaking the flange, the steel beads are rubbed against the stainless steel surface, producing a rhythmic, popping sound. Larger models produce louder sounds, while smaller models are softer and easier to control. Dimensions: approximately 13 cm in diameter x 19 cm in total length (cylinder part approximately 6.5 cm) The endless loop of steel bead chain is wrapped around a specially finished stainless steel cylinder surface.
