The icon shows whether the humidity is at a good or bad level:
10-39%RH - unfavorable level,
40-70%RH - good level,
71-99%RH - unfavorable level.

You can place the weather station in any place where the temperature is between -10Cto 50C.
The probe itself measures the temperature from -50C to 70C.
This will allow you to check the temperature not only at home, but for example:
