A scattering of swirling circles is printed to resemble a rice bran pattern, and finished as a [kayaori] wiping cloth. The Nara craft of [kayaori] is a loosely woven, thin fabric that has been passed down since before the Nara period, known for being “airy but keeping out mosquitoes,” and used in mosquito nets ([kaya]). The wiping cloth, sewn with five layers of cotton [kayaori], becomes softer with use, is highly absorbent, durable, and long-lasting. It is ideal for wiping dishes, countertops, and hands. Perfect as a small greeting or gift.
