The essential rice bowl and teacup for meals should be comfortable to use. Calm colors and stable shapes are excellent items that never become boring. "Hechimon" comes from a Shigaraki craftsman's term meaning "unique items." Just like the various forms created by nature and the individuality of each person, these vessels have many expressions. They may feel closer to agricultural products than industrial goods. These pieces are crafted by skilled artisans who understand the importance of "heterogeneity," filled with playfulness and sincerity. Shigaraki ware is pottery made in Shigaraki-cho, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture. It is counted among Japan's six ancient kilns and is said to have a history of over 1200 years. In 1976, it was designated as a traditional craft by the government. Due to being handmade, there may be variations in size, color, and glaze application for each product, which may differ from the photos. Enjoy the charm of the pottery.
