Converse All Star Hi 'Parchment White' (Unisex) Parchment Canvas Shoes 144755C

The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star is the original basketball shoe and was once the official NBA game shoe. Composed of a rubber sole and canvas upper, it debuted in 1949 and quickly became an industry-favorite basketball sneaker—its design remains unchanged to this day. At the time, basketball player Chuck Taylor joined the basketball team sponsored by Converse and helped market and sell the All Star, also contributing improvements to the shoe; in 1930, Converse decided to add Chuck Taylor’s name to the shoe. By the 1970s, the classic black-and-white All Star gained immense popularity among rock musicians and young people, and was embraced by numerous subcultures; pairing the All Star with jeans and a white T-shirt became a symbol of counterculture.
