We designed our new Hot Ash stove with the lightweight backpacker in mind. We knocked off 2 pounds to bring the Hot Ash Mini down to under 1 pound. Like the original, the Hot Ash Mini conveniently nests into a small 7" x 2.3" form factor. The Hot Ash Mini's chimney and combustion chamber are made from 0.20" titanium. The front and rear legs are aluminum, providing added strength when using heavier kit. We completely redesigned the combustion chamber for improved airflow and heat output. When the fuel is lit, the fire burns sideways due to the drafty air. This air hits the back of the stove, creating turbulence and resulting in a secondary combustion. The bottom chamber allows preheated air to combine with the secondary combustion to create an ultra-hot fire.
