Located deep in the mountains of Yamanaka Onsen in Ishikawa Prefecture, Shirasagi Mokko has been producing everyday tableware, including bowls, trays, and round wooden dishes, for three generations, focusing on traditional Yamanaka lacquerware.
The company employs highly skilled lathe-turning craftsmen and is one of the few to handle raw material procurement and processing, sharing 50% of the raw materials for Yamanaka lacquerware, which is made from natural wood. They use only domestically sourced wood and handle everything from raw material selection to final turning.
By using a cutting method called "vertical cutting," the wood grain is revealed, resulting in a natural finish that allows you to appreciate the wood grain. The design is easy to use with both Japanese and Western cuisine. The S size is just right for children. The lower inside is turned thicker to stabilize the center of gravity and reduce spills.
There are individual differences in the product, and it is not possible to specify the color or wood grain.
Dishwasher, dish dryer, oven, and microwave use are all not permitted.
Do not use abrasive items such as scouring pads or cleansers, as they may cause scratches or peeling.
Avoid soaking, and wipe off any moisture after use or washing.
Store away from direct sunlight.
